Full Grid
Full grids are elements in your DE filters that let them deliver the maximum filtration power using the power of the Diatomaceous Earth minerals.
What people can expect from full grids from various brands today include: the ability to help the D.E. Filter deliver unique internal flow path that ensures optimum filtration and backwashing efficiency; enhances D.E. Filter's removable cartridge elements that make maintenance fast and easy; and helps the D.E. Filter give water flows through the Quad D.E. so efficiently that your pump will use less energy.
Regardless of the promises offered by makers of D.E. Filters and their full grids, standard wear and tear issues may soon render these full grids unusable. You can prevent that by considering the repair parts you can find in this category as the genuine replacements you will need to get them right back up running again.
The first component in this category you may soon need replacing is the: FG-1006 AMERICAN PRODUCTS D.E. FILTER GRIDS. These are the filter grids that may need to be replaced after 7-10 years. When replacing these full grids just make sure to disassemble the assembly and discard the used grids first before adding the DE powder.
The next item you may need to replace is the FG-1005 AMERICAN PRODUCTS D.E. FILTER GRIDS. This is the replacement for the 1005 model, which will be effectively installed when you have already backwashed the filter before removing the filter lid.
The FG-1003 AMERICAN PRODUCTS D.E. FILTER GRIDS are available in this category, too. We placed this here because this is a key component to make sure that your D.E. Filter's plastic tips of the grids do not snap off inside of the manifold when removing them. Should they snap off, plucking them with your fingers or pliers will do the fix.
